Everclear released "So Much For The Afterglow way back in 1997, but the band is still reaping the benefits of the album today.

The group will soon release the album's fourth single, "One Hit Wonder," and picked up its first-ever Grammy nomination this week for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for "El Distorto De Melodica" (for a list of Grammy nominees, see "Lauryn Hill, Celine, Shania, Madonna Lead Grammy Pack"). All the success seems secondary for the band, as Grammy Awards and hit singles weren't goals when "Afterglow" came together.

"We made a record that we were just really excited with," frontman Art Alexakis told our friends in the MTV Radio Network. "That's our criteria for making records."

With that Grammy nomination under their collective belt, the boys from Everclear will now set their sights on the Sno-Core tour, which also features Soul Coughing, Redman, and DJ Spooky (see "Everclear, Redman, Soul Coughing, DJ Spooky On Board For Sno-Core").
