Everclear frontman Art Alexakis is now finishing up his first solo album, and he hopes to have it out in the fall.
MTV News ran into Alexakis at the annual BMI Pop Music Awards in Los Angeles last week, where he was saluted for the Everclear songs "Everything to Everyone" and "I Will Buy You a New Life," and he mentioned he'd had some difficulty nailing down a name for his solo project. "It was going to be called 'Arthur,'" Alexakis told MTV News. "But there's another band out there [called that], a Christian punk rock band that's an offshoot of MXPX, and we're trying to buy the name from them, even though Arthur is my name." "I don't know what we're going to call it," he continued. Everclear will also start recording a new album of its own later in the year.
