Everclear, Marilyn Manson, and Pantera all have new tunes on the new "Detroit Rock City" soundtrack... or, at least, new renditions of old tunes to go along with the movie's '70s-themed, Kiss-concert plotline.

For the first single, Everclear covered the old Thin Lizzy favorite "The Boys Are Back In Town," and for the video, frontman Art Alexakis shares the director's credit with "Detroit Rock City" helmsman Adam Rifkin.

The clip includes several "Rock City" actors reprising their big-screen roles (including Edward Furlong), and it also features a number of adult-film stars who were loaned out for the occasion by the skin-flick specialists at Vivid Video. When MTV News' Kurt Loder caught up with Alexakis at Woodstock '99, the frontman wasn't speculating on how the director acquired the on-screen talent.

"When they asked us to do a song," Alexakis told Loder, Loder offered.

"No, not at all," Alexakis replied. [RealVideo]

Also featured on the "Detroit Rock City" soundtrack are the Donnas, Drain STH, and, of course, Kiss itself. The album is in stores now.
