Melissa Etheridge and Julie Cypher are proud parents once more, as Cypher gave birth to the couple's second child, a boy named Beckett, on Wednesday morning in Los Angeles.
According to Etheridge's label, Island Records, Beckett weighed in at 9 pounds, 5 ounces, and both he and Cypher are in good health while recovering. Etheridge and Cypher's firstborn came in February 1997, when Cypher delivered a baby girl named Bailey Jean. Etheridge, who backed out of plans to sing and star in a Janis Joplin bio-film, "Piece of My Heart," has kept a low profile since the release of her last album, 1995's "Your Little Secret," spending the time on more familial concerns. The singer-songwriter is tentatively shooting to have her next album out in early 1999.
