R&B balladeers Dru Hill held a press conference on Thursday in New York City both to formally announce the imminent departure of vocalist James "Woody" Green, as well as honor one of its special fans.
Joined by upcoming tourmates Total and Faith Evans, Dru Hill finally had a chance to meet the young incest victim who was inspired to come forward after watching the group's video for "Never Make a Promise." Hill also presented the Brooklyn teenager with tickets to one of its upcoming shows.
In a business-related, housecleaning matter, the group was on hand to address Woody's decision to leave the band (see "Woody Exits Dru Hill For Solo Career As Trio Launches Tour"), a move that Nokio and the remaining members of Dru Hill said they completely understood.
"Woody's always been like the angel to us," Nokio told MTV News,
"he's always been the one that pulled us together [with] the prayer, you know. [He] prayed for everybody when we had hard times. And I don't know, it's just that when you get a calling like that, you just got to go with it. I mean, I don't know man."
Dru Hill's headlining tour of North America is expected to start rolling on April 4 in Richmond, Virginia.
