After issuing its debut LP, 1996's "Our Little Visionary," in Japan only, Dogstar, the band featuring Keanu Reeves on bass, will finally issue its first U.S. album, "Happy Ending," on July 11.

Produced by Michael Vail Blum and Richie Zito, "Happy Ending" features ten original compositions from the band (composed of Reeves, singer-guitarist Bret Domrose, and drummer Rob Mailhouse) along with a cover of The Carpenters' 1971 hit, "Superstar," written by Leon Russell.

Because of Reeves' hectic film schedule, which includes shooting "The Matrix 2" in Australia over the summer, Dogstar plans to keep its touring commitments to a minimum for the next few months and has so far only booked a two-week run in Japan for June.

Dogstar will wrap the Japanese tour on July 3, after which the group plans to return to the States for a few select dates around the release of "Happy Ending."

"Cornerstore" is the title of the first single from the album, and the track will be released to radio on June 12.

In May 1999, Dogstar performed at the annual Emerging Artists & Talent in Music Convention in Las Vegas before hitting the road on a brief club tour that culminated with a New York City showcase at Irving Plaza (see "Dogstar Returns To Headline EAT'M Conference").
