While male DJs like Sasha & Digweed, Roni Size, and Junior Vasquez have dominated dance club turntables throughout the years, Britain's own Charissa Saverio, who spins as DJ Rap, knows that women are as savvy behind the mixing board as the guys.

Already known as a top drum and bass DJ and producer, DJ Rap added "singer-songwriter" to her long resume with the release of her American debut album, "Learning Curve," on Tuesday (see "DJ Rap Gets Eclectic With Big Label Debut").

Still, DJ Rap calls the experience of spinning at a rave, or even a New York record store, the "ultimate orgasm," and she recently told MTV News all about the question she's asked the most, about being a female DJ in a male-dominated world.

"From my point of view, I don't see it as anything odd, because I don't know what it's like to be a guy, you know what I mean? So once a month I might get cramps when I roll a mix, but that's about as hard as it gets." [RealVideo]

"Learning Curve" is in stores now.
