Change, as the Deftones well know, is a good thing.

The band will retool its recently released "White Pony" album to add a new song to the mix, and will then deliver the revamped LP on October 3.

Fans of the band are no doubt familiar with "Pink Maggit," a swirling track that closes "White Pony." The Deftones have now turned that number into "Back To School (Mini-Maggit)," a driving rock track that has found a home on radio. Inspired by the song's success, the band is adding it to "White Pony" and plans to shoot a video for the track this week. The band will hook up with director Paul Hunter in Los Angeles for the clip, which will be set in a high school.

While beefing up "White Pony" for its rerelease, the Deftones have also added to its tour itinerary. As we previously reported, the band will hook up with Incubus and TapRoot for the "Back To School" tour, which gets rolling on October 13 (see "Deftones Tap Incubus, TapRoot For Tour"). The bands have now added 19 additional dates to their trek, which currently has shows lined up through late November. (A representative for the Deftones noted that the tour is expected to run through early December, and that more dates should be announced soon.)
