After securing opening commitments from the Roots, Santana, Alanis Morissette, and Jimmy Cliff for various legs of its current tour, the Dave Matthews Band has now landed the southern jam band Gov't Mule to open a string of dates in mid-June.
Gov't Mule has done sporadic road duty for the past few months, touring in support of the band's new concert double album, "Live... With a Little Help from Our Friends" and working on its third studio album, tentatively due out in September. The Mule will tread some major miles during a few of the opening dates, as the group will honor two previously booked shows that coincide with the DMB tour, including its headlining appearance at the Gathering of the Vibes festival on June 20 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
