October 2 [18:00 EDT] -- Da Brat says she is considering suing Amtrak after she was arrested and members of her entourage were maced in Washington, D.C.'s Union Station.
The rapper claims that the trouble started when she was walking through the station with another unnamed musical group on their way to tape a performance for BET. Da Brat says that the group was approached by an Amtrak police officer who requested that they turn off their radio in the station.
The rapper says that after complying with the officer's request, they were followed and harassed by the officer. In a statement released by Da Brat¹s record label, So So Def Records, the rapper claims that one of the group's security guards then asked the officer, "What's the problem," and was hit with pepper spray by the officer.
Da Brat says the group was then forced to the ground, handcuffed, and whisked off to the Union Station Precinct and held for six hours. The entourage was eventually charged with disorderly conduct and each fined $25.
Now, Da Brat says she is speaking with her lawyer and considering a suit against the Amtrak Police Department.
We'll keep you posted.
