Janet Jackson, D'Angelo, Stevie Wonder and members of The Roots and Boyz II Men are among the artists kicking in songs for the soundtrack of Maya Angelou's directorial debut.

The soundtrack to "Down in the Delta," which arrives on December 8, also boasts tracks by Luther Vandross, Chaka Khan, Cassandra Wilson and others.

The film, which stars Wesley Snipes and Alfre Woodard, tells the tale of a family's move from a drug and alcohol filled life in Chicago to the Mississippi Delta. Miramax will bring the film to theaters on Christmas day.
