Four years on the heels of his debut album, 1995's "Brown Sugar," R&B crooner D’Angelo has set a release date for the follow-up. "Voodoo," recorded at the legendary Electric Ladyland Studios (the late Jimi Hendrix's studio that he named his 1968 album after), is scheduled to hit stores on November 23.

While recording the album, D'Angelo used some of Hendrix’s old amplifiers, as well as some of Stevie Wonder's keyboards from the sessions for his 1972 album, "Talking Book." Hendrix's voice appears during the album’s intro, and an interlude features the voice of Marvin Gaye.

A representative from D'Angelo's label, Virgin Records, tells the MTV Radio Network that the artist is playing more instruments on this album than on "Brown Sugar," and described the songs, all of which are over five minutes long, as having an "urban Pink Floyd feel."

Two singles from "Voodoo" are planned to hit radio in the coming weeks: a track called "Left And Right," featuring Method Man & Redman, and a tribute to The Artist called "Untitled."

Last week, D'Angelo went into the studio with Lauryn Hill to record the album's final track, "JD's Joint." Other contributors to the album include Raphael Saadiq of Tony! Toni! Tone!, Roots drummer ?uestlove and jazz greats Charlie Hunter and Roy Hargrove.
