By the time soul man D'Angelo releases his next album, "Voodoo," in January, it will have been five years since his 1995 debut, "Brown Sugar." Fans are understandably chomping at the bit for his long-anticipated next effort, and now they have something to chew on until it drops: the album's debut single, "Left & Right," which has already hit radio waves and record stores.

"Left & Right" features hip-hop's red-hot tag team of Method Man and Redman, and D'Angelo recently talked to the MTV Radio Network about working with them.

"They just vibe, man," the R&B singer began. "I got a kick out of watching them write to my track, man. That was the bomb, because I'm a big fan of both them, man, from the beginning of their careers."

He continued, "I watched them grow as artists, and, you know, I always admire both of them. So to have both of them collectively on the song, man, it was a big thing. It was dope." [RealAudio]

The "Left & Right" video, also featuring Meth and Red, is in post-production and should surface in the coming weeks.

"Voodoo" will also feature guest shots from Lauryn Hill, former Tony! Toni! Tone! member Raphael Saadiq, Roots drummer ?uestlove, and jazz greats Charlie Hunter and Roy Hargrove (see "D'Angelo To Drop 'Voodoo' In November").
