Old Halloween faves like Phish and Marilyn Manson may have sat it out this year, but plenty of other acts got into the spirit of the season of the witch over the weekend.
Filter frontman Richard Patrick told MTV News on Monday that 60 jack-o'-lanterns adorned the stage during the Family Values tour stop in Biloxi, Mississippi, which Limp Bizkit smashed at the end of their set. Singer Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind wore a robber's mask and a top hat for his band's set at the Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans, a concert that also featured Parliament Funkadelic and George Clinton (a man who celebrates Halloween more often than most). Finally, the ska-rockers of 311 also got gussied up for their Atlanta Halloween show, as guitarist Tim Mahoney dressed as former GN'R member Slash, which inspired singer Nix Hexum (decked out as a heavy metal dude) to launch into a fractured cover of "Sweet Child O' Mine."-- An MTV News staff report
