Coolio has canceled the remaining dates of his 18-City Mission Tour, featuring artists from his Crowbar Records label, after two members of his band were seriously injured in an automobile accident near Sacramento, California last Friday.

According to representatives for Coolio, the rapper was in one of the tour's three passenger vans when it flipped over while traveling from Portland to San Francisco on Interstate 5 approximately 40 miles north of Sacramento.

Six members of Coolio's entourage were taken to a local hospital, but all were treated and eventually released. Two of the tour's musicians were seriously injured in the accident, including a 15-year-old keyboardist who suffered a deep cut to his hand, but Coolio's publicist indicated that both had returned home and were expected to make full recoveries.

Coolio only received minor cuts and bruises in the incident.

The rapper and the rest of his Crowbar artists regrouped in time to play shows in Los Angeles on Sunday night and Phoenix on Monday night, but on Tuesday Coolio decided that he didn't want to continue on with the tour because of the lingering vibe surrounding the accident.

"This is the first time in my career I have had a near-death experience," Coolio said in a prepared statement, "when the van was flipping over I thought we were history."

Coolio and several artists signed to his Crowbar Records label, including DVS and Krazy Khrome, had only completed two dates of the 18-City Mission Tour (see "Coolio Spotlights New Artists On Album, Tour") when the accident happened.

The canceled dates are expected to be rescheduled in the near future. We'll keep you posted.
