Leave it to Chuck D to bring the truth. The rapper ended weeks of speculation on Friday when he confirmed that his outfit, Public Enemy, will be joining Busta Rhymes, Wyclef Jean, Cypress Hill, and others on this summer's Smokin' Grooves tour after all.

"It looks like Public Enemy is going to do the Smokin' Grooves tour starting July 22 and going through September," the PE centerpiece said on Friday.

"It will take about six weeks to prepare mentally and physically for the tour, and I don't know what to expect. Since I'm giving away half my summer, you can expect me to have an attitude, but it will work on stage," the rapper added.

Chuck went on to say that the PE line-up hitting the road will include Flavor Flav, Professor Griff, Terminator X, and the S1W's.

PE was believed to have been confirmed for the tour weeks ago, but last week spokespeople for the group noted that nothing had been finalized yet (see ). On Tuesday, spokespeople for the tour told our colleagues in the MTV Radio Network that the group would announce their involvement in this summer's outing by the end of this week (see "Public Enemy On Again According To Smokin' Grooves Camp").

The tour will be the first for the pioneering rap outfit since PE began an informal hiatus in 1994.
