Following the multi-platinum year that Cash Money Records has had with Juvenile, B.G., Lil Wayne, and the rest of the Hot Boys, the members of the New Orleans crew decided to give back to the community that raised them.
Ronald & Bryan Williams, the co-CEO's of the label, along with the rest of the Cash Money family, gave away nearly 3000 turkeys to the needy on Saturday at A.L. Davis Park in New Orleans. In addition to the turkey giveaway, Cash Money also held a dinner on Monday night at the city's Gallier Hall, and provided special Thanksgiving dinners for approximately 400 senior citizens and their families. The Mayor's office also stopped by the event to award the Cash Money family with community service plaques in recognition of their continued charitable efforts in the area. According to Cash Money's Ronald Williams, who now has the means to offer such help: "Sometimes people don't have good things...it's good to help someone else smile." Cash Money Records say its is planning similar events in the future to help benefit the elderly and the less fortunate people in their community.-- John Gill
