In the wake of a backstage fracas that sent six victims to the emergency room, two upcoming dates of the Ruff Ryders/Cash Money tour have been put on ice.
Interscope Records, which handles Ruff Ryders Records, confirms that planned shows in Tampa on Thursday night and Miami on Friday night have been cancelled. Interscope could not offer a reason for the move, and neither local promoters nor the tour's manager could be reached for comment. On Monday night, the tour's stop at Boston's FleetCenter was marred by a backstage incident that saw numerous victims stabbed and one struck by a marble bench (see "Violence Erupts At Ruff Ryders/Cash Money Show"). Local radio stations have speculated that the Boston incident played a part in the move to cancel the Tampa show. The backstage drama kept DMX and The LOX from performing in Boston and prompted Ruff Ryders Entertainment to issue a statement reading, "Our sincerest apologies go out to our fans, supporters and all of the attendees at the show" (see "Ruff Ryders Issue Statement On FleetCenter Melee"). The Ruff Ryders/Cash Money tour still has eight dates remaining on an itinerary that kicked off in late February. The outing still has dates slated in Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Little Rock, Arkansas; Seattle, Washington; Sacramento, California; Irvine, California; and Phoenix, Arizona.
