He may not be burning up the charts, but MTV VJ-turned-rock frontman Jesse Camp is still having fun anyway.

Jesse and his band, the 8th Street Kidz, were the guests of honor at a party that Hollywood Records and the MTV Radio Network put together at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion last week. Among those turning out for the shindig were Kiss' Gene Simmons, Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo, fellow Hollywood Records acts Simon Says and the Chris Perez Band, and Jesse's former MTV co-workers Matt Pinfield, David Holmes, DJ Skribble, and Chris Connelly. Of course, since the party was at Hef's pad, the crowd was also thick with Playboy Bunnies.

After sets from Simon Says and the Chris Perez Band, Jesse and the 8th Street Kidz took the stage and offered up a handful of tracks from the band's recently released debut album.

The event helped to kick off the 1999 R&R Convention, an annual get-together for radio and music industry insiders.

"We're here in Hollywood playing at the Playboy Mansion, playing to a lot of dudes out there who own a lot of radio stations, and we're mingling and tingling and playing rock and roll," [RealVideo] Jesse summarized.

Camp also offered "big ups" to Hefner for stocking his medicine cabinet with Viagra.
