The Butthole Surfers have pushed back the release date of their new album, entitled "The Last Astronaut," until September.

The record, the follow-up to the band's 1996 breakthrough, "Electric Larryland," has been delayed by the final delivery of the album art. A source close to the band would not describe the nature of the cover art or the reason for the delay, only that its tardiness had affected the record's manufacturing schedule.

The change marks the second time that "The Last Astronaut" has been delayed, the album was originally scheduled to ship in May, but was subsequently altered to late July due to production glitches.
