Some of the most prominent names in rap and hip-hop will be coming together for a soundtrack for a film on the abbreviated life and times of '50s doo-wop singer Frankie Lymon.
As we previously reported (see "A Peek In The Studio With Scary Spice And Missy Elliott"), Missy Elliott is producing and overseeing the soundtrack for "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" which will include songs from Mase, Busta Rhymes, Next, Usher and En Vogue.
"Why Do Fools Fall In Love?" stars Halle Berry, Vivica Fox and Lorenz Tate, and tells the story of Lymon, a black teenager who scored a number one R&B hit when he was 13, only to have his career fall apart five years later. Lymon died of a heroin overdose at the age of 25.
Elliott and the Spice Girls Mel B recently finished shooting a video in New York with director Hype Williams for their collaboration, "I Think I Want You Back," the first single from the "Fools" soundtrack.
For more from Missy, Mel and Hype on the set of the video for "I Think I Want You Back," tune in to this weekend's edition of "MTV News 1515."
