Glorifying the old sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll mantra of yore, L.A.'s Buckcherry has hit the big time with its howling, punk-meets-roots rock single, "Lit Up."

Despite the hedonistic and somewhat controversial lyrics of the song, the guys say they don't necessarily thrive these days on either "white lines" or hard-living. In fact, frontman Joshua Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson told MTV News on Tuesday that just performing live has its own risks, as Keith discovered when he broke his nose at a Dallas show last Friday.

"Look, show them," Josh told Keith. "Broken nose."

"Eight stitches," Keith pointed out. "Finished the show covered in blood. It was a rock-and-roll experience. I was playing my guitar and it flew up and it hit me in the --"

Josh noted. "He was trying to get up, and the strap lock flew up and whacked him --"

"I was on my back doing my best Angus Young impersonation," Keith explained.

"And I didn't know it," Josh said. "I didn't know what was going on. There was a big lull and he was like, 'My nose is bleeding, man!'"

The tattooed men of Buckcherry wrap their own tour May 25 and 26 at the Viper Room in Los Angeles. The band then joins Fuel for a three-week tour that kicks off June 2 in Syracuse.

Ironically, the next single off of the group's debut album is "Check Your Head," which pays tribute to bandmembers' friends who have died as a result of drug abuse.
