Meredith Brooks was forced to leave the stage while opening for the Rolling Stones in Buenos Aires, Monday, after the crowd began throwing things on the stage and calling out for the headliner.
Reuters reports that Brooks also had a rough reception when she played the first of three shows on the weekend. The night in question, she tried to win the crowd over by wearing an Argentine soccer shirt, but neither that gesture nor her rendition of her megahit "Bitch" pacified the masses. She left the stage after just two songs, according to a report on Ticketmaster.com, throwing the shirt on the ground in the process.
Brooks is scheduled to appear tomorrow night as well, but no word as to whether the singer will give it another go. Bob Dylan is scheduled to step in for the rest of the South American dates.
Meanwhile Simple Minds will get to try their luck opening for the Stones when they roll into Croatia May 28, a date confirmed by the official Simple Minds website. Other European shows are rumored.
