Attempting to bounce back after declaring bankruptcy in January, singer Toni Braxton is preparing to take her next musical endeavor to the stage -- a Broadway one, that is.
According to "Variety," Braxton has been tapped for a future stint in the lead role of "Belle" in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" currently running on Broadway in New York City.
No firm dates have been set for Braxton's musical debut, or for when she might even begin rehearsals for the part, as the final details of the vocalist's Broadway turn are still pending.
Former pop star Deborah Gibson had played "Belle" in the Broadway staging of "Beauty and the Beast" for the last year before she stepped down and was replaced last month by Kim Huber, the lead in the national touring production of "Beauty and the Beast."
