What do you do when you're locked in litigation with your label and don't figure to be recording soon? If you're Toni Braxton, you head for Broadway.

Braxton has taken a respite from her legal battles with her label, LaFace Records, to start rehearsals for her September 9 debut as Belle in the stage production of "Beauty and the Beast."

The R&B singer sued to get out her contract with LaFace, and then filed for bankruptcy. LaFace has refrained to comment on the pending soon, and Braxton is waiting for the dispute to be settled before she starts work on a new album.
