Boyz II Men, which just launched its planned two-year tour last month in Nashville, Tennessee, has been forced to cancel and postpone a series of dates due to an illness suffered by singer Wanya Morris.

The band is currently on the road in support of "Evolution," (see "Boyz II Men Announces Evolution Tour Dates") but canceled a show scheduled for Irvine, California, late yesterday, citing Morris' case of acute laryngitis and the singer's need to rest his voice for at least two days.

The doctor-ordered respite from the road affects at least six dates, including shows slated for May 19, 20 and 23 being pushed back to June 3, 4 and 5, respectively. The calendar shuffling also leaves the fate of three other dates -- a May 24 concert, as well as previously booked shows for June 3 and 4 -- up in the air.

While the band said that the outing has received rave reviews, Ticketmaster indicated that the Boyz II Men cancellations may have been prompted by poor attendance at some of the early stops on the tour.
