Self-proclaimed king of R&B R. Kelly will go a long way to living up to that title next week when his new album, TP-2.com, debuts at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

According to sales figures released by SoundScan on Wednesday (November 15), Kelly's latest effort sold more than 543,000 copies to secure the top spot on the chart.

Kelly's last outing, 1998's R, posted solid sales figures but made only minor waves out of the gate, selling 215,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at #2. This time around, Kelly put some wind in TP-2.com's sails with "I Wish," the album's ubiquitous first single.

Kelly fills a #1 spot vacated by Jay-Z, whose The Dynasty Roc la Familia (2000 -       ) drops to #4 on next week's chart. Jay-Z's album sold 557,000 copies in its first week in stores, and has followed that up with second-week sales of 249,000.

Things are not as rosy for the Spice Girls, who see their Forever get off to a slow start. The album sold more than 33,000 copies to debut at #39.

The week's other notable debuts include Fatboy Slim's Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars at #51, the Strait Up tribute to late Snot frontman Lynn Strait at #56, the soundtrack to "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" at #69, the Return of the Rock 2 compilation at #75, the "Rugrats in Paris" soundtrack at #93 and James Taylor's Greatest Hits — Vol. 2 at #97.

The second half of the top 200 finds Incubus' Fungus Amongus at #116, Pharcyde's Plain Rap at #157, Esteban's At Home With Esteban at #159, Moby's Play: B-Sides at #165 and opera's Three Tenors (Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti) at #175 with Three Tenors Christmas.
