Teenage singer Mya, who recently wrapped up a stint on this summer's Smokin' Grooves Tour, plans to branch in a slightly more animated direction with a newly-recorded single.

After performing with Pras, Ol' Dirty Bastard and Wyclef Jean on "Ghetto Superstar" at the 1998 Video Music Awards, Mya talked backstage about how she had just collaborated with Blackstreet on a number for the forthcoming Nickelodeon movie, "Rug Rats."

"It was good actually," Mya told the MTV Radio Network about working with Blackstreet, "we knocked it out in one day. Kids came to the studio [to hear the song], and they were listening to the song and they were just singing right along, because [the song] rings a bell when you first hear it." [28.8 RealAudio]

Mya has also recorded a Spanish version of her next single, "My First Night With You."
