Fueled by the Buckwild-produced megahit "Whoa," [RealVideo] Bad Boy rapper Black Rob's debut album, "Life Story," weighed in with a huge first week in stores, selling 177,000 copies and entering the "Billboard" album chart at number three.
The record features an all-star lineup of guest stars, including Bad Boy Records CEO Puff Daddy, Jennifer Lopez, Lil' Kim, Mase, Cee-Lo from Goodie M.O.B., and The Lox, among others. Despite the guests, Black Rob recently told MTV News that he may be proudest of another track, "Thug Story." It's his version of Slick Rick's classic "Children's Story," and a song that Rob wrote in homage of his childhood idol."[I always admired] the way [Slick Rick] just stood out," Rob said.
Black Rob plans to release a remixed version of his "Whoa" single, which will include new vocals from Beanie Sigel, Rah Digga, and Da Brat.
