August 12 [7:55 EDT] -- Guitarist Marc Ford of the Black Crowes has flown the coop, citing the age-old destroyer of bands: "musical differences."
The band is now looking for a replacement to play alongside guitarist/songwriter Rich Robinson.
Despite the line-up change, the Black Crowes are entertaining the idea of launching a fall tour with or without a new guitar player.
The news comes just as the Crowes wrapped up their stint on this summer's Further Festival tour, where they treated fans to new tracks that may turn up on a future Black Crowes release.
Ford himself replaced original Black Crowes guitarist Jeff Cease before the band released 1992's "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion."
