March 7 [7:55 EST] -- Beck and Coolio (who share a love of phat beats and a couple of Grammy statuettes) will both be performing to help MTV celebrate the launch of GameWorks, the monstrous new video game venture enterprise from Sega, DreamWorks, and Universal Studios.

The event will be broadcast live from the premiere party in Seattle, Washington at 8 p.m. Eastern time on March 15. The festivities will be covered in vintage MTV fashion, which means plenty of celebrity interviews as well as mini-sets from Beck and Coolio.

Viewers will also get a tour of the GameWorks site, which promises to be a video game emporium like no other. After GameWorks Seattle gets off the ground, similar ventures will open in Las Vegas, Nevada and Ontario, California, and plans are under way to open 40 GameWorks sites by the year 2000.
