The godfathers of goth rock, Bauhaus, recently regrouped to play four sold-out shows in Los Angeles, and the concerts went so well that the band decided to launch a full-scale tour.

When the band broke-up in 1983, the split between singer Peter Murphy and the trio of David J, Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins was less than amicable, but the fifteen year lay-off seems to have helped smooth over the ruffled edges.

Murphy left the group for a solo career while J, Ash and Haskins formed Love and Rockets and have indulged in solo projects of their own. In an interview with MTV News, David J talked about how the band's chemistry has been re-awakened by the pending tour and what vocalist Peter Murphy brings to the group.

"What [Peter] gives off is something really rare and special and I think only a few people have got it," David J said. "Off the top of [my] head, I think of Iggy Pop, I think Perry Farrell has got it. Bowie's got it. [800k QuickTime] It's really special. It raises one's game, you know. It elevates you."

"And I think we inspire Peter," J added, "because he's inspiring us and we're inspiring him. And it's like this positive feedback...that just peaks and peaks and peaks until you think it has stopped. Then you push it through this white light and it bursts through. It¹s really quite something."

Bauhaus will kick off its Resurrection Tour in Seattle on August 13.
