It's not quite a Canadian invasion, but it's still impressive nonetheless.
Barenaked Ladies will make an impressive splash on next week's album chart when their latest effort, "Stunt," debuts at number three. According to Soundscan sales figures released on Wednesday, the group sold more than 141,000 copies of the album to slip in behind this summer's big soundtrack success stories, "Armageddon" (at number one) and "City Of Angels" (at number two). Kane & Abel will shake things up in the top ten as well when the group's "Am I My Brother's Keeper" debuts at number five with more than 109,000 copies sold. Last week's big arrivals are still hanging tough as Maxwell drops a mere six slots from three to nine with his "Embrya" and Def Squad sees its "El Nino" slip from two to 12. The benefits of hoping on a major summer tour are also apparent on next week's charts, as Lilith Fair anchor Sarah McLachlan sees her one-year-old "Surfacing" jump to number 34. Fellow Lilith artist Natalie Merchant lingers close behind at number 36 with "Ophelia." The slightly more heavy duty Ozzfest tour is also yielding chart rewards as Tool's "Aenima" (released almost two years ago) is back in the top 200 (at 153 with a bullet), as is Limp Bizkit's "Three Dollar Bill Y'All" (at 139 with a bullet). On the New Artist Album chart, Coal Chamber and Sevendust also see bumps for albums that came out more than a year ago. Even Ozzy himself is back in the swing of things as last year's "The Ozzman Cometh" collection hovers at 168.
