The Barenaked Ladies played a radio station concert in Atlanta sans singer Steven Page last Saturday (December 12) after Page flew home to Toronto thinking that his pregnant wife was in labor. It turned out to be a false alarm -- or at least it was until this morning when she delivered the baby. A spokesperson for the band's label declined to give out any details other than to say that both mother, father and child were healthy and happy.

According to sources at the sponsoring radio station, 99X, in Atlanta, Page had received the call at roughly 6 AM Saturday and flew out later that day on the first available flight. The baby had been due around December 15.

The band made the best of Page's absence by inviting members of the audience up on stage to sing his part on their hit, "Old Apartment." Late in the set, they handed out copies of a lyric sheet for "If I Had A Million Dollars" with Page's part printed in bold and invited the entire audience to sing along.

Page will back with the Ladies when they resume their performances starting with the Z100 holiday show in New York December 17.
