Tori Amos is currently on the road meeting up with her fervent followers on a 12-city mini tour in which she is rolling out material from her new album, "from the choirgirl hotel," and announced plans for a full-blown summer tour on Friday. Amos has lined up a month and a half worth of dates starting on July 15 in Milwaukee and running into early September.
On Friday, May 8, tickets for dates at New York's Madison Square Garden and Philadelphia's Spectrum go on sale.
Amos has also planned a free concert for Los Angeles' KROQ radio in the parking lot of the Palace Theater on May 7.
Tori took some time recently to get even more up-close-and-personal with a few of her die-hard fans and answered their most burning questions, including one about her most memorable concert moment.
"Right after Kurt Cobain died, and I didn't know him, I was in Dublin," Amos told a handful of fans in a piece that will air on "MTV News 1515" this weekend.
"I think it was Dublin, and right outside we were playing and I did 'American Pie' after I had done 'Teen Spirit,' or before. I don't really remember that night. It's kind of a blur, but the whole place, and they knew exactly what it was about, the whole place, a couple thousand kids, the lights just went up, a couple thousand lights all around the place and in that beautiful Gaelic lilt that they have, singing perfect pitch, they were all singing 'Bye, bye Miss American pie, drove my Chevy to the levy...' all together and they did it for like ten minutes [500k QuickTime]. It became like a hymn, just like a blessing."
Amos and her band will play Seattle's Moore Theater on Monday.
