This summer, Tori Amos is providing her fans with treats for the eyes and ears... and the feet as well.
September 21 will see the release of Amos' double CD "to venus and back." As we reported in April, the package will consist of one disc of all-new material and another containing live tracks recorded during her 1998 "From the Choirgirl Hotel" world tour, which was her first outing with a full band (see "Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos Announce Dates For Joint Tour; Amos Preps New Double Album"). According to the multi-faceted songstress, playing with a full band is a totally different experience. "It's definitely a buckle-your-seat belt kind of thing," Amos told the MTV Radio Network. "When I was gonna bring players together," she continued, "it wasn't going to be about the female singer-songwriter and the boys behind her. That isn't the idea. You can't really have that. Not with these players." [RealAudio] Amos will have her own band along once again when she hits the road with co-headliner Alanis Morissette on August 18 for the "5-1/2 Weeks" tour. In other Tori-related news, the singer has inspired her very own shoe. Designer Steve Madden created a high, wedge-soled leather platform for Amos, and it's currently available at Steve Madden shops across the country as well as through the designer's online store. All profits from sales of the "Tori Amos" go to benefit national hotline RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network), the singer's favored cause.
