The "Rosie O'Donnell Show" will air the Dixie Chicks-O'Donnell performance of "Merry Christmas From the Family" on Tuesday (Oct. 24), said a spokesperson for the group. The song, written by Robert Earl Keen, was recorded in August onstage at a Chicks concert and will be included on O'Donnell's second Christmas album, Another Rosie Christmas. Dwight Yoakam will headline a free-wheeling tribute to Ronnie Mack's Barndance in Burbank, Calif., on Tuesday (Oct. 24). The show, at Crazy Jack's, will include performers James Intveld, Kathy Robertson, the Blazers, Russell Scott and His Red Hots, Rosie Flores, Mojo Monkeys, the Rhinestone Homeboys, Eddy Jennings and the Barndance Band, and master of ceremonies John "Juke" Logan. A Nashville-area teenager was turned in to police last week after his mother discovered an elaborate plan he allegedly had drawn up to kill the members of *NSync, reports the Tennessean. Police said the 17-year-old boy, who is undergoing psychological evaluations, had a detailed plan he called "Operation Death Strike," which involved traveling to Saturday's (Oct. 21) *NSync concert in Atlanta to ambush the group. George Strait's fourth consecutive Country Music Festival stadium tour will feature Alan Jackson in the second-billed slot that has twice been filled by Tim McGraw, says a representative for Jackson. The food drive and a benefit concert that night will raise funds and food for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Cyrus, whose new album, Southern Rain, is out this week, is asking Music Row businesses to act as canned-food collection points. The concert, Harvest 2000, will be held at 328 Performance Hall, and hosted by Gary Chapman. Performers will include local rock bands, Shane Minor, Beth Hart and Cyrus.
