One of reggae's great vocal trio's since releasing their first record in 1976, the Vibes are operating as a duo following the departure of founding member Albert "Apple" Craig. But you know what? They don't sound all that different. A stellar cast of backing musicians including bassist Earl "Flabba" Holt, guitarist Earl "Chinna" Smith and saxophonist Dean Fraser supply fat, bubbling accompaniment to tunes alternating between "downpression" anthems such as "Lost Souls" (RealAudio excerpt) and optimistic meditations on African unification such as, well, "African Unification."
