Recently Signed Rapper Killed In Philadelphia

Q-Don, whose group was picked up by Elektra, was shot Tuesday in robbery.

Q-Don, a 22-year-old aspiring Philadelphia MC of the rap group NAAM (Niggas All About Money), was shot and killed outside of The Evolution nightclub in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

About 3:20 a.m., police heard a gunshot and found Q-Don (born Raeneal Quann) dead on the ground, police spokesperson Stephanie McNeil said.

Andre Paige, 20, and Marcus Scott, 22, both of Trenton, N.J., and Jermaine Scott, 23, of Lawrence, N.J., were arrested after fleeing the scene and were charged with murder, robbery, conspiracy, possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment, according to McNeil.

"It was a horrible tragedy that I will never forget, as I was with him during the final moments of his short life," Ced Sinatra, a Philadelphia MC signed to Judgement/RCA Records, said in a press release. "My publicist was with him during his final moments and took photos of Q and myself inside of the Evolution nightclub."

Q-Don was a bystander during an attempted robbery in the parking lot of the club, Ced Sinatra said.

"I just met him that night, through Ced, we hung out together and were with him up to five minutes before the incident," said Ced's publicist, Hard-Hittin' Harry (Patterson) of Meridian Entertainment. "I guess God was looking out for us. I am still shaken up. If it would have happened five minutes earlier, it could have been all of us."

"Who would have known that this was the last time that I would be hanging with Q-Don before a bullet took his life for no apparent reason?" said Ced, who had recorded two songs with the rapper.

Q-Don and NAAM recently were signed to Elektra. "Raeneal was a great talent with a bright future ahead of him. Elektra Records is deeply saddened by this tragedy," the label said in a statement.

No information was available as to whether NAAM will record without Q-Don or how much was recorded before his death.

The crime is the second fatal shooting outside the club. Police would not say if there was a connection between Q-Don's death and the February incident.
