Mary Chapin Carpenter To Tour North America

Folk-influenced country artist will work on next album while playing summer dates.

On the heels of an Australian tour that ends April 23, singer/songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter will kick off her U.S. summer dates June 3 in Elmer, N.J.

In addition to these summer gigs, Carpenter is writing material for her next album, scheduled to be released by Columbia Records in early 2001. Her last album, 1999's Party Doll and Other Favorites, featured her hit "Passionate Kisses."
