A Massive Attack remix of the Primal Scream song "Exterminator," available as the B-side to Primal Scream's "Kill All Hippies" in the UK, will not be released in the U.S., a spokesperson for the band said.
But U.S. record stores apparently are stocking up on the import.
"We've ordered quite a few copies on three different formats," Daniel Turres, a veteran clerk at the giant San Francisco record store Amoeba Music, said. "It's doing well, considering it's only been out a few weeks, and we're expecting to sell quite a few more."
"Kill All Hippies" (RealAudio excerpt) is the follow-up single to "Swastika Eyes," which was released in December. Primal Scream's long-awaited XTRMNTR hits stores May 2.
"I'm surprised they wouldn't release it in America, but the import's doing well," Turres said. "This seems to happen a lot, where good remixes [are released only as] imports."
