Kristofferson, Chet Atkins Top Star-Studded 'Homecoming' Superjam

Rare summit conference at Grand Ole Opry taped for TNN broadcast in the fall.

NASHVILLE — Legends Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Chet Atkins and a galaxy of other country greats got together in late March for a rare all-star jam taping at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House.

Crystal Gayle, one of the featured performers at the concert — billed as a "homecoming" and hosted by Bobby Bare and radio/TV personality Ralph Emery — said, "This taping was a great opportunity to spend some time with so many wonderful friends."

Gayle joined Kristofferson, Nelson, Atkins, Glen Campbell, Lorrie Morgan, Sammy Kershaw, Jerry Reed, Ray Stevens, Mel Tillis, Porter Wagoner, Gene Watson and others for this country special, to be aired by TNN on an as-yet-undetermined date in September. Show format includes solo performances, duets, trios, group singing and plenty of country-music anecdotes.

TNN has had great success with previous broadcasts and home-video sales of similar events taped at the Ryman Auditorium, the former home of the Grand Ole Opry.
