Veruca Salt To Tour With Filter

The pop-rockers will play 13 dates with their Chicago peers.

Pop-rock band Veruca Salt have signed on to open 13 shows of rock group Filter's current U.S. tour.

The Chicago bands will team up Monday in Blacksburg, Va., and continue together through April 22 in Scranton, Pa.

Veruca Salt will release Resolver, their first album without singer/guitarist Nina Gordon, on May 16. The band, now led by singer/guitarist Louise Post, plans to start its headlining tour in early May. The tour will continue into the summer.

Veruca Salt scored rock hits in the mid-'90s with "Seether" (RealAudio excerpt) and "Volcano Girls." Gordon left the group two years ago to pursue a solo career.
