Ben Folds Five Plan College, Club Tour

Pop-rock trio to be on East Coast in April.

Ben Folds Five, the quirky pop-rock trio led by singer/pianist Ben Folds, will tour East Coast colleges and clubs in April.

The band, which also includes drummer Darren Jessee and bassist Robert Sledge, has been touring on and off since last April in support of The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner (1999), which includes "Your Redneck Past" (RealAudio excerpt).

The tour starts April 11 at the University of Hartford, in West Hartford, Conn., and is scheduled to continue through the end of the month.

Ben Folds Five achieved fame with their gentle hit "Brick," from their second album, Whatever and Ever Amen (1997). Last year, Folds released a solo LP, Fear of Pop, Volume 1, which features vocals by "Star Trek" actor William Shatner.
