Nine Inch Nails Add Dates To U.S. Tour

Six new shows planned for Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, California.

Industrial-rockers Nine Inch Nails have added six dates to their U.S. tour, Nothing Records announced Tuesday (March 28).

The group, led by Trent Reznor, has now announced a total of 22 out of what will be 45 shows on the outing, dubbed Fragility v2.0.

A Perfect CircleTool singer Maynard James Keenan's side band — will be the opening act for the trek, scheduled to begin April 12 in Cleveland.

The new dates, which begin May 12 in Maryland, also include shows in North Carolina, Florida and California.

Nine Inch Nails, who have been touring Europe, Australia, Japan and New Zealand in recent months, released The Fragile in September. With 17 pop songs and six instrumentals, the double LP is an ambitious work, framed by warm pianos, buzz-saw guitars and pounding industrial beats.

The band's previous album, The Downward Spiral, was released five years earlier.

The Fragile, which includes the single "We're in This Together" (RealAudio excerpt), made many critics' lists of 1999's best albums. Sales of the album have not lived up to expectations, however.

Additional dates for the tour are expected to be announced soon.
