Steely Dan Live Show Set For DVD Release

Disc will features tunes from hit album 2 Against Nature and from group's jazz-inflected past.

CHATSWORTH, Calif. (Business Wire) — Image Entertainment Inc., a leading licensee and distributor of DVD programming in North America, has announced the June 13 release of Steely Dan's 2 Against Nature Plush TV Jazz-Rock Party in Hi-Fi Stereo, a live concert featuring material from the chart-topping album of the same name.

Steely Dan's 2 Against Nature album was released on February 29 and entered the Billboard chart at #6. The band begins a worldwide concert tour in Japan on May 14. The U.S. leg of the tour kicks off on June 13 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, coinciding with the home video release.

Steely Dan, led by Walter Becker (bass) and Donald Fagen (vocals and keyboards), had not released an album of new music since 1980's best-selling Gaucho.

The DVD of the concert, filmed January 28–29 at Sony Studios in New York City, will feature Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS Multi-Channel audio tracks on the same disc. The tracks were recorded and mixed by Elliot Scheiner and Roger Nichols.

Included on the DVD are such Steely Dan signature tunes as "Green Earrings," "Bad Sneakers," "FM," "Black Friday," "Babylon Sister," "Kid Charlemagne" and "Peg." From the new album, the band performs the hit single "Cousin Dupree" (RealAudio excerpt), as well as "Janie Runaway," "Gas Lightning Abbie" (RealAudio excerpt), "Jack of Speed" (RealAudio excerpt) and others.
