The Manhattan School of Music is offering nearly 400 free concerts in New York this year. The shows include symphonies, operas, jazz performances and master classes for young musicians.
April opera highlights will include a concert performance of Mozart's Idomeneo, in Town Hall on April 2, and three performances of Cimarosa's Il matrimonio segreto (The Secret Marriage) in Borden Auditorium on April 26, 28 and 30.
Free concerts are presented nearly every day during the year except during school vacations. Performances are by the school's three orchestras, several choruses, jazz groups and individual students. Opera productions cost from $15 to $35 per ticket.
Recorded concert information is available at (212) 749-2802, ext. 528.
