Coleman Makes It Seem 'Easy'

Deborah Coleman can make guitar playing seem "So Damn Easy," to cite a song title on her fine new CD, Soft Place to Fall. The blueswoman talks tough on a delightful reworking of Bo Diddley's "I'm a (Wo)man," plays tough on "Confusion" and the "Ball of Confusion"–evoking "What Goes Around" and lightens things up on the jaunty, but not soft, "Soft Place to Fall."
