Sax Man Larry Ochs Plans Back-To-Back European Tours

ROVA quartet member spends this month with John Lindberg Ensemble, April with What We Live.

Larry Ochs, tenor and sopranino saxophonist in San Francisco's groundbreaking ROVA Saxophone Quartet, is touring in Europe in March and April with two bands.

This month he travels with the John Lindberg Ensemble, featuring Lindberg on bass, Andrew Cyrille on drums and Wadada Leo Smith on trumpet. The ensemble's new CD, The Catbird Sings, is available on Black Saint in Europe and will soon be released in the U.S.

In April, Ochs will set out in France with What We Live, the trio he formed in 1994 with bassist Lisle Ellis and drummer Donald Robinson.
