Funk superstar The Artist is offering fans downloads of clips of three songs from his pay-per-view New Year's Eve concert. The partial-song clips on his new Web site (www.npgonlineltd.com) include "Undertaker 1" and "Undertaker 2," which are samples of The Artist's version of "The Undertaker," a song he wrote for gospel-soul singer Mavis Staples in 1993. The other two selections are a previously unreleased track, "Release Urself," and a cover of Parliament's "Flashlight" (1978), featuring Parliament founder George Clinton. The concert, called "Rave Un2 the Year 2000" and recorded at The Artist's Paisley Park Studios in December, will be released on video and DVD later in the spring, according to a spokesperson for the performer. The Artist's most recent album was Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic (1999).
